Ventura County Retiree Health Insurance Plans

If you are retiring or are retired from employment with the County of Ventura, the first step is to meet with your retirement benefits representative to discuss your health insurance options.  It is important to research what each plan covers before making or changing a selection.  Be aware that if you opt out of your retiree plan, you may not be able to re-enroll in the future.

It is also important to note that County of Ventura retiree health plans currently have prescription benefits that exceed those of Medicare Part D; the retiree prescription coverage has no coverage gap or "donut hole" like Part D.

Once you have seen your retirement benefits representative, you may make an appointment with the Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program (HICAP) Manager to learn more about your retiree and Medicare benefits and options.  Call HICAP at 1-800-434-0222 to schedule.
