What is CHAMPUS?
CHAMPUS (Civilian Health and Medical Program of the Uniformed Services) was a health care program of the United States Department of Defense Military Health System that provided civilian health benefits for military personnel, military retirees, and their dependents. This program has been revamped and is now called TRICARE, though it is still widely known by its former name. See the page on TRICARE for more information.
